How can they affect everyday life?

Genital warts aren’t life threatening, but they can be life altering. Because of their physical appearance, genital warts can sometimes cause people to feel anxious or embarrassed. These feelings may make new or even existing relationships difficult for some people.
For some women, genital warts can get bigger during pregnancy, making it hard to urinate. In rare cases, they can also interfere with delivery.
If you think you might have genital warts, visit your doctor. There’s no reason to be uncomfortable when there are treatments available.
